UIMPROVE is brought to you by The Universal Improvement Company, the highly-regarded consultancy established in 1992. The UIC specialises in organisational improvement, providing training, facilitation and consultancy in strategy development and implementation, project management, process improvement, teamworking, leadership and data.

UIMPROVE has been developed by its founder and leader, Richard Capper. Richard started his career in customer service and then moved into operational management. He first became an improvement professional in 1988 working in a large organisation and setting up the UIC originally as a part-time venture in 1992. By 1994 business had grown to such an extent that Richard left his job to focus exclusively on the UIC. "It would be nice to say I had a master plan of creating an approach to organisational improvement" says Richard "but that would be a lie. What happened over a period of 15 years was that clients kept asking for assistance with different issues. Eventually all those assignments evolved into an integrated approach to organisational improvement". Richard has grown the UIC and UIMPROVE into a seven figure turnover organisation but growth is not the aim. "What separates us from other providers is our size and ethos. We are big enough to offer good capacity to our clients but small enough to offer a personal level of service".

Richard goes on to explain how the idea of supplying licences to organisations who want to run their own training came about…"Again, it would be nice to say I had a plan. But the truth is one of our existing clients asked if they could run their own training and I said 'yes'."
